Driggs Trip

Last week we had a much needed vacation! We went to Driggs, Idaho where Brad's uncle has a really nice cabin that we stayed in for our honeymoon. We haven't been back there since but we got to go, with Brad's dad Barstep momtepmom Susan and sisters Kayla and Gina. We left late Saturday night after Brad got off work so we didn't get there until 12:30. Driggs is across the mountain from Jackson hole so we had to go over a mountain to get there. The above picture is of the Teton mountains. This is a view from the top out of the car.

On the way down our ears were especially hurting from the pressure of the elevation change. I sure wished that I could teach a baby how to pop her ears!:

Here are the girls in front of Dad at Old Faithful. Aren't they so cute in their matching pants?
Allie thought that the "big sploosh" was really cool.

In Jackson hole we had to get a picture below the antler bridge.

Allie found a little friend to dance with at Bubbas barbecue place.

And a big papa bear to sit on its lap.

I'm sorry that is all the pictures I got, there are some more on Brads phone (an Iphone we got him for fathers day!). We saw a buffalo really close up and we played lots of games and flew kites. I ran a little bit and we had a wonderful time.

Brad thought it was weird at first, but I really wanted to take my sewing machine with us. I took it and worked on something when I could. Well I was able to start from scratch and finish it while we were there and I couldn't be happier about it. I have been wanting to make it for a while and I'm glad how it turned out.

I finished quilting the big flower one just barely so I will get some pictures up soon with it.

I'm not very good at taking pictures lately but I will try to be better this summer. I'm busy with activity days and my primary class and sewing projects so I don't get on the computer enough to update my blog very much either. I need to start over my resolutions for the year, like a Mid-year resolution evaluation.

I just became an aunt for the first time on Tuesday. Taycie Camryn Nelson was born on Alyssa's birthday. Taycie is so adorable and my girls are so excited to have another little girlfriend to play with! Kytie is turning out to be a great mom it looks like, I wish her the best of everything.

This is a Lot!

Okay, we've got a lot to cover! I got a new computer from dell and when I got it and tried to hook it up it didn't work! It turned on but wouldn't respond to a monitor or keyboard or mouse so they took it back and replaced it. Needless to say that took a couple of weeks.
So I'll go with oldest news first. May 8th was the Home Machine Quilting Show at the South Towne expo center. Me and the girls went, it was so awesome! This is some of the great stuff I got to witness:

We went on a couple more hikes, I made it to the waterfall! Too bad Zack snuck into my picture! It had been raining a lot so there was a lot more water we had to rock climb a lot. I was hanging onto a rock cliff right here and then I had to jump in the water right after to get down.

On Memorial Day we did the traditional Docking lunch with my family. Here is me and the girls out at promontory, I guess they weren't too happy to be taking a picture because I promise that they liked being there!See! Marlee IS smiling:
And Allie had fun on the 4 wheeler with Chelsy:
I finished this quilt top and backing and sandwiched it together. I'm still working on the quilting and when its finished I would like to sell it. So if anyone knows someone that would like a girls quilt its a full/queen and the cutest dang thing ever I would rather sell it to someone I know than online or something. One night Marlee was ready for bed and Allie got in the tub while we finished Family Home Evening. The girls were talking to each other in the bathroom then we heard a splash and Marlee choking and then Allie saying, "Moooooooom!....................... Marlee got in the tub!"
Marlee is so funny! She has this new face that she does when she says "doggie". I tried for a while to get it on camera and this is the closest I could get because the flash would mess her up. It is sooo cute when she does it I laugh every time.
She is talking a lot more too. This morning she learned how to say monkey. She said daddy monkey and laughed. She really understands things too, it is hard to get mad at her because she has a scared face that is so cute if you yell at her and then she says "sawye" so cute it melts your heart.

We also went to Chelsy's graduation on June 1st, Cameron graduated too. I got a picture of Chelsy on the big screen but we didn't get any pictures after with her. I think my mom did though, don't worry.

Brittany brought her new boyfriend with her Ryan Lee and he had a "talk" with my dad. ;) And the next weekend they got engaged!! She is so happy and loves him so much. They are getting married in December, so we will have 2 weddings this year!

Brad and Zack went on a killer hike. We found this cabin up the mountain called Adams cabin and it is a 5 mile hike up that is the steepest thing ever. Here is one of the views from up there:

And here are the boys at the cabin:

It looks way cool up there, there is already beds and sleeping bags and a stove and some food up there. There is a log book that you write when you go up there to stay or to visit. They went up just one morning but say they will never go again unless they are staying the night.

Last Monday we went to a Birthday party for Matt and Kytie. Everytime we go there Allie and Marlee want grandpa John to juggle. And ever since Allie was little she would run circles around him while he juggles and now she got Marlee into it too, it is way funny!

Here are the girls helping Matt open his presents:

And the two Birthday kids with their cake!

(it looks like Kytie really thinks it looks yummy! :)

I started training for races again. I did a 5k in Farr West in 34 minutes. My time isn't good because I'm not a fast runner, but I ran the whole way not walking at all and sprinted at the beginning and at the finish. After that I trained for the Bear Lake one again. I did the 10k the same as last year. I shaved 12 minutes off of my time last year and ran the ENTIRE way!! I didn't walk at all. Here is Allie wearing my medal, she was so proud of me and did a great job of cheering me on through the whole thing. Grandpa Curtis followed us and they were parked on the trail about 4 or 5 times throughout.
After my race, we stopped in Brigham because I had a quilt in a quilt show at the courthouse. It was so awesome because mine was the first one to see. Right when you walk up the stairs my quilt was right there!

Brad was salesman of the week for this last week and so he gets to drive THIS for a week!

He is going to be so spoiled! It is way nice, leather, navigation, back-up camera, and check out that lift and tires! Lucky duck, he deserves it- way to go Brad!
