Disney on Ice

Our first trip to Disney on Ice! It was so great to finally get tickets to take Allie. We got tickets for my Mom, Dad, and sisters Brittany, Kytie, Chelsy, and Alyssa. But Alyssa had to go to a FFA Convention at the last minute so she didn't go and I had my friend Jenny and her little girl Logan come with us. We rode the Front Runner train down. It was a great idea because I live pretty close to it and it is a lot cheaper on gas and a lot less stressful on driving. It seemed a lot faster, too. On the way down we got onto a pretty ghetto train that was brown on the inside.

We went early to go to the Princess Pre-Show. They had displays of some princess dresses, like Snow White's dress and Belle's yellow Dress. There was Cinderella and the new princess Tiana there to say hi to us! Here is Cinderella behind Allie, she loved to wave to her, Cinderella was so beautiful!

Marlee was a really good sport on the train and everything even though it cut right through her nap time. She started to get ornery before the show.

So we went into the stadium to find our seats. We were trying to get a picture of me and Allie with the stage behind us. Allie wouldn't smile at all, so I begged her. Still no, she didn't want to take pictures any more. So I bribed her that she could get a snow cone that we saw other kids have. I guess that's what she wanted, because it worked!

There were guys walking around trying to sell stuff and one of them had a tray of snow cones in cute little Tinkerbell cups! That's what we needed because I promised if she would smile really good she could have one. TWELVE DOLLARS later, we had a pretty good snow cone and happy girls for a minute!

Right before the show started, Marlee was getting fussy so Chelsy took her out for a little walk and came back just in time for the show to start and Marlee was asleep. Marlee slept through the ENTIRE show!
At the beginning of the show it was Mickey Mouse, Minnie, Donald Duck, and Goofy. They were so cute and were pretty good skaters too! Their car broke down so they went to look for some help and the cars from the Cars movie came! That silly Mater, and Lighting McQueen, Ca-Chow!

Then it was Ariel, the Little Mermaid. The acting and skating was so good! They even had Sebastian the lobster, Flounder the fish, those Evil Eels, and the Sea Witch! When Prince Eric skated with Ariel he lifted her up off the ground.

The next part was Lion King. It was really awesome too. They had lots of different animals when they did the Circle of Life and it was cool how they showed the antelope stampede that killed Mufasa. Allie says that The Lion King was her favorite part of the show, and when they sang "Hakuna Matata". It was really cool.
Allie really loved the show and sang along to the songs and was on the edge of her seat to see what would happen next.

Here is some of us at intermission, of course Allie wasn't smiling again (I guess her snow cone ran out) :

The last part was Tinkerbell. My Dad and some others were a little confused because they haven't seen the movie, but I thought it was amazing. They had fairies flying above and they did a lot of great skating, and the end was spectacular. There were flowers that grew out of the floor and flower banners fell from the sky to show that Spring came!

When we were walking to the train after Marlee finally woke up. She slept the whole time, I guess she was really tired from all the excitement and missing her nap. The train home was really nice and new and clean. It was a really short trip back it felt like and it was cool to see us passing bad traffic on the freeway.
We will definitely ride the train again and I hope we can go to Disney on Ice again, Allie and I would LOVE to see the Princesses!

She's Walking!

Marlee is walking all over the place now. She finally decided that she wants to get around like that now. Here is her coming from Brad to Me and she didn't even stop and hold on to the chair as she went past!

We went to Disney on Ice on Friday! Just Me and the girls and my family. I can't wait to show but the pictures are on my Mom's camera becasue I left mine in the car. But here is a shot of the girls really excited before we left!

Quilting Projects

Are you ready for this? I'm so excited to show what I have made lately. Okay, I watch this show on kued or something called Quilting Arts and I swear they start me on something new every week. It is really cool some of the stuff they teach. So I learned how to get a picture and mess with it on Photoshop Elements and then get 4 different shades of a color of fabric and turn it into this: or this:

After I made Chelsy's she showed it to friends on the basketball team and the Seniors all wanted one, so I made 5 more. I thought I shouldn't put their picture on my personal blog so I didn't, sorry. But it is really fun to do these, they are only the size of a sheet of paper and then I cut them down and put them in a 8x10 frame but I would really like to do a bigger one like 12x12, that would be awesome.
Now I am working on "thread painting" that I learned last week. It is free-motion embroidery on a machine using varigated thread, it is really fun.

I started this quilt about a month ago, and I finally got it all together (except the borders). It was a cool quilt to do with strips and cutting triangles. I just love it.

I saw some Mary Engelbreit fabric in November that I HAD to have. I'm a really big Mary Engelbreit fan and these prints and colors just made me melt. Then I finally made up something to make with it. This has to be my favorite thing that I have made, it is so awesome and makes me feel so creative!
It is a table runner, a really simple pattern:I quilted the coolest "Mary Engelbreit style" pattern into it:I put a ruffle on one side of it and I'm using it in my kitchen on my quilt rack. I'm looking for some black buttons to put on it to hold the top together and make it just that much cuter:
I absolutely LOVE it. When I finished it, I showed it to Brad and said "don't think I'm weird if I take it everywhere with me for a few weeks, I want to show it to everyone I know!" I'm pretty proud of it and really really love it.
I went to Tai-Pan Trading with my mom yesterday (good idea, or bad idea?). I found THESE, that I'm going to put on the wall in my sewing room, right above my cutting table. AND I got them for 1/2 price because the back was kindof broken but I fixed it with some wood glue when I got home and now they look perfect! My loving Mother bought me THIS:Its an old fashioned towel rack but I'll be hanging it up and using it like this:
Oh goodness, it looks like that quilt is a little too big for it and I'm going to have to make something new for it! I better get to work!!
