Class was kindof a blur too, I was in the middle of a radiology class at my school Stevens-Henager in Logan. We had a little quiz so when we were passing them back to be corrected the girl behind me said, "Did you know you had little grease spots all over the back of your shirt?". Ha ha, of course I didn't, but I wasn't surprised, thats how my day is going.
After class it was lunch time before I had another class in the afternoon. I didn't pack a lunch and I was super hungry so I went accross the street to Subway. I called Brad on my way over, I asked him if it was okay if I bought lunch because we were on a budget. That could have been the last time I ever talked to him.
I got my sandwich, the usual, and a Dr. Pepper. I remember backing out of the parking stall, making my way over to the stop sign, and stopping at the stop sign. That is it. Thats the last I remember.

I was hit by a Ford F350 truck. I was immediately knocked unconscious. It was pretty close to my school so some of my classmates outside saw it or heard it. There was a kid that had had the spirit tell him that morning to take his blessing oil today because he would need it. He was the second one to my car and broke through the back window and crawled inside and gave me a blessing. He said my breathing was really gurgily and that my legs were broken and one of my arms, and that my head was bleeding really badly.
I heard it took the paramedics and firefighters 30 minutes or more to cut me out with the "jaws of life". I was taken to the Logan Regional Hospital. Meanwhile they were trying to get a hold of my family, they looked in my cell phone and found my family and called them. My sister Kytie answered and told them that my mom was on her cell phone and gave them the number. My mom said when they called they asked: Do you know Kayli Taylor?" Yes that is my daughter. Does she have any medication allergies? No Does she have any medical problems? No, why?
They told her that I had been in a car accident and that I was at the hospital about to get on the helicopter to be transported to McKay Dee. She was in Logan at the mall so she said she would be there soon and drove over to the hospital. A social worker was at the door to meet her and they went to the back and the doctors told my mom that I was stable. They had to intubate me and they knew I was bleeding a lot in my brain and bleeding a lot in my abdomen. In Logan they don't have a brain surgeon so they sent me to Ogden in a helicopter. Chelsy and Alyssa were with my mom and they kissed my face and I went in the helicopter.
My friend Darci later told me that her brother was on duty in Brigham that day (as a police). He told her that the Logan police were calling the Brigham police to try to get a hold of Brad to get down to McKay Dee to tell me goodbye.
My mom did call him and tell him and he was working in Tremonton and hurried down to the hospital. I can't imagine what was going through his head- it would have been so scary. We had been married just under a year then.
When he got to the hospital he got to see me and the doctors were telling him what was going on and what decisions he needed to make. I had a subdural hematoma, 3 broken ribs, collapsed a lung, lacerated my spleen and had it removed, and a lot of bruising on my left leg and hip. Notice that I never had a broken arm or legs that the people that saw me in my car said that they saw. I know it was because of the blessing and that I am supposed to be here today.

I was in the hospital for 6 days and I was pretty well recovered and back to school and work after 2 months. I hurt really bad for a long time. I got really bad headaches. I didn't drive for an entire 2 months. I had to drive a mini van after. We are still paying for my hospital bills. I have lots of scars from it. But I am so lucky. I am so blessed just to be here, let alone be here and be healthy and be mentally okay and I didn't have any huge personality changes or anything from the brain trauma I went through. I was able to get pregnant 4 months later and have a healthy child and I was healthy and well throughout.
I am so greatful for my life and for my children and for my husband. I know that it was all really hard for him and how he hurts when I get hurt. I am so thankful that I lived through this experience and I am thankful for all of the things that I learned from it.
